Happy Sunday. I don’t know how everyone else feels, but Sunday is my favorite day of the week to cook. Sunday Supper is the time to indulge, relax, and take it slow. While thinking of what to cook for dinner tonight, I dug deep into my archives and thought I’d share some of my favorite quintessential Sunday Supper recipes to help inspire your dinner tonight.
My 17 Favorite Sunday Supper Recipes
1. My Favorite Pork Tenderloin Recipe
Pork tenderloin is served with crisp pancetta, ricotta mashed potatoes, and spinach. It’s as stunning as it is delicious!
2. Chilean Sea Bass with Beurre Blanc
I developed this recipe over 7 (!!) years ago, and readers continue to tell me that they serve this regularly for special occasions. With sugar snap peas coming into season, this is a perfect spring Sunday Supper.
3. Chicken Parmigiana with Brown Butter Marinara
Did you even cook on Sunday if you didn’t use every bowl in your house? While you have to whip out a few bowls for dredging, the finished product is worth extra cleanup. Plus, if you’re the chef…you get to enlist help on cleaning up your dredging station, right?
4. Fregola with Clams and Pancetta
Fregola (or fregula) is a small pasta that hails from Sardinia, Italy. It pairs perfectly with these clams, crisp pancetta, and a gorgeous sweet and spicy chili oil. If you don’t have fregola, use pearl couscous or orzo instead.
5. Braised Chicken with Creamy Leeks
Mushrooms, leeks, and peas work perfectly in this creamy sauce that gets its decadence from crème fraîche. A little nip of white balsamic vinegar lends a nice acidity to the sauce.
6. Caramelized Onion Rigatoni
Sage-infused whipped ricotta is something you need in your life, especially if it’s resting under beautiful caramelized onion rigatoni.
7. Homemade Mushroom Ravioli
If there’s one day to whip out the pasta machine, it’s Sunday. These ravioli are stuffed with a gorgeous ricotta, mushroom, and spinach filling and tossed in the simplest tomato sauce.
8. Simple Shrimp Chowder
This is one of the first recipes I developed, and I still come back to it, especially if I’m serving a crowd.
9. Creamy Chicken Soup with Peas
Shelled peas will be in farmer’s markets soon, so save this recipe and make it the moment you see them! If you simply can’t wait, frozen peas will work fine, too.
10. Homemade Sweet Potato Gnocchi with Creamy Sage Sauce
Fluffy sweet potato gnocchi is dressed in a rich, creamy sage sauce. The crispy pancetta is just the icing on the cake.
11. Spicy Beef and Vegetable Stew with Roasted Red Peppers
This is one of my favorite beef stew recipes. You’ll need a few hours for it, but it’s worth waiting for.
12. Chicken Cacciatore
Inspired by how my dad made cacciatore growing up, this recipe is the epitome of comfort. Serve it with cooked pappardelle for a complete dinner.
13. Carnitas Mac and Cheese
I’ve made this multiple times for parties, and it’s always a hit, and there’s never a single bite left over.
14. Braised Chicken with Leeks and Tomatoes
Can you tell I love braised chicken legs? They make a perfect Sunday Supper. In this version, they’re served with pearl couscous, Roma tomatoes, and leeks for a comforting, aromatic dinner.
15. Spicy Mushroom-Sausage Ragu
This spicy, fragrant, cheesy pasta has been a hit with readers since I shared it back in 2020. I know you and your family will love it too. Best of all, it makes for perfect lunches!
16. Stewed Beans with Manchego Cheese
This stew is served with crisp mushrooms and shaved manchego cheese on top. Finished with minced celery leaves, it looks beautiful at the table and tastes even better.
17. Ghost Pepper Crusted Steak with Three Cheese Mashed Potatoes
You don’t have to use ghost pepper salt, but it does add a little sumthin-sumthin to this reverse-seared steak.
Ok, I think that’s it for today! I hope you enjoyed walking down memory lane with me. If you decide to make one of my recipes, please drop me a comment to let me know how it turned out for you. I’d love to hear from you, and your comments really energize me…it’s why I make recipes! :) Hope you have a great week filled with lots of tasty food! Byeeeeeee! 💖
