Happy Thursday. Today, I have new recipes, recipes for Valentine’s Day, and a reader fave!
Here I am with my duck breast and vanilla parsnip purée! I developed this recipe years ago, and I’m so excited to share this version of it with you. I think it makes for a perfect romantic Valentine’s Day dinner for two!
Are you staying in or going out for Valentine’s Day tomorrow? Normally, we always stay in. And, actually, in my 10+ years with my husband, I don’t think we’ve ever once gone out for Valentine’s Day. Because I’m cooking a big Galentine’s Day dinner today, we decided to actually make reservations, so I’ll be going out for a delicious Indian meal at Royal Taj tomorrow! If you’re skipping the restaurants, I have lots of ideas for you below.
Speaking of Galentine’s Day, I’ll be SO excited to share pictures from the event! I’m having a “Tender Friends Chicken Tender Party”. I was going to call it “Love You Tenderly Chicken Tender Party” but that seemed a little over-the-top, ha! I’m making three kinds of chicken tenders, twice baked potatoes, cupcakes, mocha mousse, and a little charcuterie board. I also got really fun party favors with a “good skin, good sleep” theme. I’ll share photos from my party in Sunday’s newsletter!
Let’s dig into recipes!

Coq au Vin
Classic and comforting coq au vin is a perfect winter meal that’s deep, rich, and hearty. It also makes for a beautiful Valentine’s Day dinner.
Homemade Mushroom Ravioli
Nothing says love like homemade pasta. This homemade mushroom ravioli is a lovely vegetarian Valentine’s Day entrée!
Mocha Mousse
A perfect way to end dinner? A rich, decadent mocha mousse! The bitterness of dark chocolate pairs beautifully with fresh fruit and homemade meringue cookies, but no worries if you don’t have time for the meringues! Just add a few extra raspberries or strawberries on top. YUM!
