Midweek Meals
New recipe + faves from the archives 🌞
Happy Wednesday. Today, I have a new recipe and a few from the archives to inspire your meal plans for the rest of the week.

Midweek Update
This week, I’ve been baking and cooking and eating all sorts of good things. I decided to reshoot a few older recipes (linked below), and I finally got my chocolate banana upside-down cake recipe ready to share! I’m so excited about that cake–it’s decadent and filled with peanut butter chips and a layer of caramelized bananas. So perfect.
I’m also excited because I took a part-time job to keep myself busy between food blogging duties! A few years ago, I worked with Casa Figlia to develop her brand identity and candle labels. Now, she’s expanding and launching her first brick-and-mortar fragrance retail concept!
I’ll be helping her launch this new initiative, and I’m overjoyed! She’s also giving Tried & True readers 20% off, so if you’re looking for gifts for candle lovers, perfume lovers, or anything fragrance-related, you must check out her shop and stock up! Use code TriedAndTrue for 20% off your order at checkout (for transparency: this is not an affiliate link; I don’t earn commission).
Okay, let’s get into some recipes for the week.
NEW RECIPE
Chocolate Banana Upside-Down Cake
This chocolate banana upside-down cake combines a glossy brown-sugar caramel, buttery caramelized bananas, and a moist chocolate cake for a decadent dessert you’ll want on regular rotation.
FAVES FROM THE ARCHIVES
Harissa Mac and Cheese
This spicy stovetop harissa mac and cheese is a bolder, spicier take on the classic side dish.
Lemon-Mint Orzo with Shrimp
This recipe is almost seven years old now (how time flies!), and it’s one that I typically revisit in the colder months when I’m starting to feel the slog of dark winter evenings. A simple broth is infused with lemon peels and finished with lots of lemon juice to create a light and bright base for poached shrimp and orzo.
Pork Tenderloin with Red Wine Sauce
Juicy pork tenderloin pairs perfectly with a savory, aromatic red wine sauce for a perfect dinner party main course.
Chicken and Rice Soup
Made with homemade broth, white wine, and lots of lemon juice, this chicken and rice soup brings a deeply savory broth and pairs it with tender chicken, rice, and plenty of aromatics. The result is an extra tasty soup that will heal your soul on a cold, dreary night.
Pasta al Forno
This pasta al forno recipe is RICH–unapologetically so–and is just the kind of cheesy comfort you need on a cold night. This baked pasta dish is akin to a big hug. It’s that good and that comforting.
Mushroom and Chickpea Stroganoff
This mushroom and chickpea stroganoff is a creamy, mustardy vegetarian stroganoff that is a lovely homage to the classic beef stroganoff recipe.
Beef and Cabbage Rice Soup
This beef and cabbage soup is savory with a subtle sweetness, thanks to a few spoonfuls of fruit preserves.
That’s all for Midweek Meals! I hope everyone has a great rest of the week filled with lots of tasty food. If you make one of my recipes, please drop a comment on the post to let me know how it turns out; I’d love to hear from you! You can also respond directly to this email! Byeeeeeeee! 💖💖
