Happy Sunday. Today, I have reader faves and a few of my favorites from the archives to inspire your cooking for the rest of the week.
Weekend Update
This weekend was simultaneously busy and somehow unproductive. I cooked a lot, but not everything turned out, so I’m feeling a little deflated. I did, however, make an amazing trifle that I’m excited about! I don’t have a recipe for it, but I’m hoping to continue experimenting with it in the coming weeks. It’s an Iranian-inspired trifle with orange sponge cake, whipped cream frosting, and Iranian moraba havij (carrot jam). The carrot jam is made by simmering grated carrots with sugar, lemon juice, and cardamom pods. At the end, a touch of steeped saffron and rose water is added. It’s divine, and I can’t wait to revisit this trifle in the future!
I’ll keep this Weekend Update short and sweet so we can get into the recipes! Let’s dig in.
