Happy Sunday. I have new recipes for you today and a couple of reader faves.
Weekend Update
This weekend has been pretty low-key, and the extra hour has really helped me recharge. We had no car this weekend, so we took the light rail a few stops up for a little hike near the Maryland Zoo. We enjoyed it and had coffee at a local cafe that we, unfortunately, did not enjoy. I really didn’t like my coffee, so I had to throw it away. I feel like I’m in the minority, but when I order a latte or flat white, I HATE when it’s so steaming hot that I can’t drink it. Am I alone? I prefer the milk to be lightly stretched instead of scorched. But once, I had coffee with a friend, and the temperature of my latte was perfect, but she complained that hers wasn’t steaming hot, so maybe this is just a me thing!
The other big thing I’ve been tackling is revisiting my old recipes! I’m doing some administrative cleanup on my site and aim to remake and reshoot all of my old recipes. It’s a huge number—something like 600+ recipes—but I hope to begin sharing one revisited archival recipe weekly with you all. It’s fun to see how much my techniques have changed over the years!
Okay, I’m sure you're ready for some recipes to inspire your dinner plans this week. Let’s dig in.
NEW RECIPES
Creamy Chicken Orzo with Sage
This one is technically cheating. It’s an old recipe that somehow never made it to my website! It received so many rave reviews on Reddit, and I happened to stumble upon it last week and decided that it deserved a spot on my site, too. It’s an easy meal with wonderful autumnal flavors thanks to earthy, aromatic sage.
Baked Beef and Feta Meatballs
These baked beef and feta meatballs are salty, savory, and easy to prepare, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner. Paired with a sweet and spicy harissa-maple sauce, they are great on pita or served on salad.
NEW RESOURCE
How to Make Chicken Broth
I shared the launch of the Resources section last week, and today, I am sharing my big guide to chicken broth. Freeze your homemade broth in ice cube trays and elevate all your midweek soups and stews!
READER FAVES
Pork Chops with Sautéed Pears
Thank you, Sandi! I bet this would be delicious with chicken. Pears are in season, and this recipe is a perfect way to use them.
Pumpkin Lentil Curry with Chickpeas
Thank you, Anita! I’m so happy you enjoyed this. If you’re looking for a delicious and easy meatless Monday option, this pumpkin lentil curry is one to add to your recipe list. It’s so flavorful and comforting!
Vegan Butternut Squash Ramen
I’m so happy you enjoyed it! This is such a delicious vegan ramen recipe, and it’s perfect for the season! The butternut squash broth is just irresistibly delicious.
I think that about covers it for this week. I have so many other reader faves that have come in the last few days, but I’ll be sharing those in Wednesday’s Midweek Meals newsletter. I hope everyone has a wonderful week filled with lots of tasty food. If you make one of my recipes, please drop me a comment to let me know how it turns out. I’d love to hear from you. That’s all for now. Byeeeeeeeee! 💖 💖
