Happy Sunday. Today, I have so many new things to share. I’m excited about all of them! I have new recipes and a tomato-themed collab that I’m so excited about! Let’s dig in.
Weekend updates
My PTO is slowly winding down, and I feel like I hardly had time to do anything fun. Fortunately, I still have off tomorrow, so I may have to cram in everything then. I went to DC this weekend and ate at one of my favorite spots, Benito’s Place! The tacos are out of this world good, the horchata is delicious, and the fried plantains are always perfect. I also had a nice grilled chicken salad which was refreshing! I drank lots of coffee, putzed around a bit, and then came home.
I was going to try shopping in Georgetown, but for some reason, I’ve gotten to a point where I really prefer shopping online instead of in-person. Is anyone else like that? I like trying on everything at home, and I find myself getting overwhelmed in stores.
Regardless, I had a nice time getting out of the house and changing up my weekend routines a bit. Next weekend, my parents are coming to visit, and I’ll be making my very best twice-baked potatoes. Hopefully, I’ll have time to develop a full recipe for them to share with you all because they are legitimately amazing.

About this Thai basil chicken salad, recipe tester Vy says, “I made the Thai Basil Chicken Salad recipe tonight, and it was so much fun! It was very straightforward and easy to follow.” This is actually one of my favorite styles of salad–whether it’s with chickpeas, macaroni, or chicken–it just really hits the spot!
Tomato Collabs!
I am SO excited to partner with Casa Figlia on this beautiful summer tomato candle. Danielle has expertly captured the fleeting smell of summer in one irresistibly savory, bright candle that I can’t get enough of. If you’re not ready to bid farewell to summer, stock up on these candles and bring summer to you anytime you need it! Or buy it for your favorite friend from Jersey! :)

And if you’re buying a tomato candle, you surely need a new tomato recipe to accompany it, right? Well, I’ve got you covered there too! I partnered with Poonam Ribadia–a contestant from Hulu’s Secret Chef cooking show–to bring you a totally reimagined tomato toast recipe that weaves together nostalgic food from her childhood with her longstanding tomato toast obsession.
