Happy Sunday. Today, I have a few reader faves to inspire your dinner plans for this week.
Weekend Update
Why do the weekends seem to go by so quickly? Work has been really busy, so I havenโt had as much time to post new recipes. I do have three new ones lined up and ready to write, and I canโt wait to share them with you.
I mentioned a few newsletters ago that I had booked a reservation at Kappoโa Wagyu omakase restaurantโand this weekend was my time to try it! The food was delicious. The major downside is that (as usual) my girl math deceived me. When I booked my reservation, I thought Iโd paid for the entire dinner. Upon receiving the astronomical bill at the end of the meal, I realized Iโd only paid a deposit. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I about fell out of my seat when I got the bill!
My favorite courses are in the gallery above. The first is thinly sliced Wagyu that was marinated and then grilled and served with chili pepper threads. I love chili pepper threads and have used them in recipes, like in my sesame sweet potato bowl recipe!
Next was miso soup with Wagyu and rice. The third picture is the chawanmushiโa Japanese egg custardโwith dashi and Japanese parsnip. The chawanmushi was delicious. The next is the salad with tomato, dashi salt, radish, and Wagyu. I loved the flavor of the salad! It was so refreshing. Finally, the hamachi with wasabi microgreens on top.
I also did the sake pairing, so honestly, I really only remember the first three or four courses and everything after that was pretty fuzzy, ha!
For now, I am just relaxing before a busy work week ahead! Letโs dig into some reader faves to inspire your menu for the week.

This wonderful comment came from a reader on Reddit. Thank you so much! It really gives me a lot of joy when my recipes become permanent parts of peoplesโ recipe repertoires! Itโs the main reason I love to write recipes! ๐
