Happy Friday. I’m back with new recipes and reader favorites. I have two new recipes, including a beautiful meatball soup and a swordfish and orzo recipe that I’ve been craving again ever since I made it.
New Recipes
Meatball Soup with Pasta
This meatball soup with pasta recipe is extra comforting and perfect for a chilly night. Juicy chicken meatballs pair well with an easy-as-anything tomato sauce. The cherry on top? The most fun pasta shape, radiatori!
Seared Swordfish with Orzo
This seared swordfish with orzo recipe is a perfect weeknight meal. It comes together quickly and with very little prep but delivers delicious flavor.
Recipes Readers Love Right Now
Lasagna Soup Recipe
This is an ooey gooey, hot mess of a soup, but that’s why I love it. I’ve made this with and without spinach, and I prefer it with spinach. If you don’t have spinach, just skip it. It’s so comforting; you’ll love how cheesy and rich it is.
Easy Pumpkin Black Bean Chili
Stocking up on pumpkin for pie this season? Grab an extra can or two and make my pumpkin black bean chili. It’s a dream dinner for a cold night and easy to make!
Smoky Brothy Beans
Don’t let this uncomplicated recipe fool you: these beans mean business, and they bring flavor. You’ll love how fast you can whip this meal up!
Inside my Etsy Cart
I thought I’d give you all a peek into my Etsy cart. Because I’m starting to plan Thanksgiving meals, I’m also thinking about creative serveware to make the meal extra special.
If you pull up my internet browser, you will always find at least five Etsy tabs open with different search terms. They’re usually terms like “vintage serveware” or “vintage mid-century modern platter,” and then I get more niche with terms like “vintage cat serveware” after I discovered an Etsy shop that only sells cat-themed objects.
My cart overflows with things I won’t buy, but sellers keep trying to tempt me by sending me offers. So far, I’ve resolved to decline them, but I’m not sure how much longer I can hold out. Here are a few of the pieces I’m considering adding to my collection (and what I want to use them for!).
Vintage Goose Terrine Mold:
I assume you’d use this to make a duck or goose terrine and set it up in this mold. Instead, I want to use it for duck-fat mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving. Maybe my saffron mashed potatoes would look beautiful in this since the gold color would match the beak. I think the shape is so cute, and I love the design of the goose’s neck around the outside of the dish.
Platters Galore:
I want to find the perfect platter for my dry-brined turkey this year. The majolica platter in the middle is too expensive, but isn’t it beautiful? So far, I’m leaning toward the oval one on the left because I feel like the oval will look nicer with the natural shape of the turkey.
Cats, Cats, Cats:
These don’t fit the theme of Thanksgiving, but I just think they’re cute. I especially love the cat pitcher in the middle, and the cat salt and pepper shakers on the left are just too adorable.
That’s all I have for today! Tonight, I’m making my dad’s shepherd’s pie (really a cottage pie since it uses ground beef), so I’ll be sharing his recipe with you soon! Have a great weekend, and I hope it’s filled with lots of tasty food. Byeeeee! 💖
