Happy Friday. I hope everyone has had a great week. I have a few new recipes, plus a few reader favorites from around the internet and new Etsy finds. I really need to delete that app from my phone; it’s so dangerous!

New recipes.
Creamy Sun-Dried Tomato Chicken Soup
In my quest to become a veritable soup lady, I knew a creamy, dreamy sun-dried tomato chicken soup had to make its way into my recipe box. If you’re averse to rich stuff, just remove the cream. I made half with cream and half without, and both are fantastic.
Lemony Chicken Tomato Pasta
This lemony tomato chicken pasta is adorned with a zippy Parmesan-lemon zest mixture to give an oomph to each bite.
Recipes readers love right now.
Roasted Monkfish with Coconut Pumpkin Puree
This recipe is one of my dark horses. I loved it when I originally developed the recipe, but posted it without much fanfare. Over the years, it seems to have picked up a following of monkfish devotees on Pinterest. I love that, and now I want to eat more monkfish because it’s a sustainable fish option and delicious, especially when it gilds an aromatic, coconutty, pumpkiny lily.
Chilean Sea Bass with Beurre Blanc
This has been a reader favorite for years. I originally developed this recipe seven years ago, and since then, I’ve had many people reach out and tell me this is a meal they return to every Christmas because it’s just so lovely. You’ll love the beurre blanc and scallops and the crisp, sweet sugar snap peas. You can also sous vide the Chilean sea bass as Laurie did!
Chicken Enchilada Soup Recipe
The context for the comment on the image: I posted my sun-dried tomato chicken soup recipe to Reddit. A commenter told me they’d just finished eating their chicken enchilada soup leftovers, and that they were excited to try this recipe next. I replied that I loved enchilada soup. They wrote back and let me know they were about to send me the recipe until they realized it was my chicken enchilada soup recipe they’d made! They told me they loved it and it sounds like they’ll be moving on to the sun-dried tomato chicken soup next.
If you haven’t made my chicken enchilada soup recipe, I highly recommend it. It’s really comforting, and the broth is very worth the effort.
Meatball Soup with Pasta
This recipe is new and already making waves. It was my most visited recipe last week, and it’s already getting rave reviews! The reader above let me know that she froze it, and hopefully, we’ll find out how it turned out! I’m so happy that people are loving this one as much as I did.
A new addition to my family.
I received my Etsy order yesterday and am so excited to dig in. I’ll be doing a practice turkey this weekend (as long as Wegmans has fresh ones…) and will be photographing my trial Thanksgiving dinner on my new platters. I’m so excited to share the results with you! For now, I wanted to show you some of the pieces I’ve added to my collection.
Can you believe I’ve been stressing out over finding a gravy boat for the past, say, 5–6 years? Every November, I turkey trot myself over to Williams Sonoma and browse the gravy boats, thinking to myself: “This is the year I buy a gravy boat.” They seem to only ever carry simple, unadorned white ones at my local store, which aren’t bad. But I feel like since the gravy boat is such a specific piece–I mean, it has ONE purpose–I wanted it to have a little pizzazz. I’ve been serving gravy out of plain old bowls because I haven’t been able to make a decision about which boat to buy.
I’m very excited that I finally have a gravy boat. The piece is from the 1950s with an intricate gold design that I love. The plate is attached to the boat, which also helped seal the deal on my decision to buy it. I also picked up a matching platter which I’m hoping will be large enough for my turkey.
I’ve also spent a lot of time thinking about a carving set for the turkey, and I fell in love with this late 19th-century set with mother-of-pearl handles. They are marked with a Landers, Frary, & Clark Aetna Works engraving, so I’d like to learn if these are from the late 1800s or early 1900s. I’m just hoping the knife isn’t super dull, but maybe I can sharpen it. Regardless, I think it’s such a stunning set, and hopefully, it’s as usable as it is beautiful.
Whew! That’s all I have for this newsletter. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend filled with lots of tasty food. Byeeee! 💖 💖
