Happy Saturday. This week has been so busy, and I was supposed to be on PTO! What’s up with that? I’m so happy to be in your inbox with a long-overdue update to one of my most popular recipes.
My Dad’s West Virginia Pepperoni Rolls
Over seven years ago, I posted my Dad’s pepperoni rolls on my site, and they remain a beloved (and maybe even slightly controversial 😜) recipe. After receiving such a beautiful comment from Ashley C., I finally took the time to give this post the love and attention it deserves.
Don’t worry, Ashley, I didn’t change a thing about the recipe. But, after making a bajillion pepperoni rolls, I realized I should add more detail to the post and explain the why behind certain steps. Like, what even is a yeast sponge, and why does it matter…right?!
I also even added a pepperoni roll improvisation because, you know, I’m on a 🌱 ramp(age) 🌱 right now. Just look at these stunning ramp pepperoni rolls!
My Dad–the pepperoni roll purist–was extremely not into this concept, but when he saw the picture, he softened up to the idea. These are seriously delicious, so if you find yourself with ramps, I definitely recommend giving this variation a whirl.
At any rate, I hope you all try this West Virginia staple and enjoy the updates to the post….and I hope you love the pepperoni rolls as much as my friends and neighbors have! I’m happy to have people I can gift these to for taste-testing purposes!
