Midweek Meals
New recipes + reader faves + an update! 🌞
Happy Wednesday. Today, I have new recipes, reader faves, and a little update to share with you.
Midweek Update
I take back what I said about wanting a real snowstorm last weekend. My car is still snowed in! We ended up getting a bit over 8 inches, but the snow has definitely kept me cooped up in the house this week. I got lots of cooking done, so I’m sharing three new recipes that I am so excited about, including that gorgeous orange-pistachio upside-down cake from the video above.
Onto the update!
I’ve had a few people reach out and request some way to receive my recipes without ads, offering to pay a small monthly fee to access this content without ads (that do tend to slow down my site, I know). I also do not like ads, but they do enable me to make a living at this, so alas.
BUT, given the number of requests I received, I decided I would create a subscription model that will allow me to create a library of these recipes right here in my newsletter.
Starting in February, each month I will send out an email to paid subscribers with a batch of recipes from the site (likely by month and year, IE, March 2025, February 2024, etc.) until all 1000+ recipes have been compiled into monthly e-book PDFs. After the archive of recipes has been completed, paid subscribers will continue to receive the current month and year recipes every month for a nominal fee.
I realize this is a bit different than a traditional recipe blogger’s subscription model, but truthfully, I don’t like “gatekeeping” new or secret recipes because I (personally) don’t see the value, and I wouldn’t want to charge people for that. But, I do hate browsing websites with ads (and it seems many of my subscribers do, too!), so I can see value in paying a small fee to access ad-free recipes if that’s your preferred way of browsing my content.
All that to say, the subscription is completely optional, and my recipes will always continue to be available free of charge (minus the annoying ad experience) on my website.
Okay, enough chit-chat. Let’s get into some recipes to keep you cooking the rest of the week.
NEW RECIPES
Orange-Pistachio Upside-Down Cake
This orange-pistachio upside-down cake combines a layer of juicy, bright oranges soaked in an orange-scented caramel with a moist pistachio-flavored cake. It’s topped with a creamy, light mascarpone frosting and finished with a sprinkle of crushed pistachios for a bright, light cake that feels like happiness in each bite.
Harissa Beef and Leek Stew
This is a new recipe, but people are already loving it! So happy this well-spiced, aromatic, rich beef stew tasted delicious enough to add to your cozy meal repertoire.
Spicy Chicken and Sweet Potato Soup
This spicy soup is a weeknight dream: loaded with tender chicken thighs, sweet and earthy sweet potatoes, and hearty pinto beans, it’s a recipe you’ll want through all the chilly months.
READER FAVES
Lemon-Rosemary Chicken and Rice Soup
Thank you, Moira! I’m so glad your first Tried & True recipe was a success! The combination of a rich homemade broth, lemon juice, fragrant rosemary, and tender rice… on a cold day? Yes, please!
Ricotta Beef Meatballs with Orzo
Thank you, Kristen! And I am definitely with you on keeping the onion and garlic the same…you can never have too much! So thrilled you enjoyed it!
Short Rib Lasagna
Thank you, Christina! The best lasagna recipe you’ve made? I’m honored! But, it’s my favorite, too! So happy this was a successful “Snowmageddon” cooking project for you. Maybe we need to get DiPasquale’s to sponsor your next tray with their guanciale, lol!
Cherry Garcia Upside-Down Cake
I’ve never had a recipe become as immediately beloved and popular as this Cherry Garcia Upside-Down Cake! Thank you both for your comments, Bailey and Emily! So happy this recipe was a hit for you both, and I’m really delighted that it’s become a birthday request!
That’s all for Midweek Meals! I hope everyone has a great rest of the week filled with lots of tasty food. If you make one of my recipes, please drop a comment on the post to let me know how it turns out; I’d love to hear from you! You can also respond directly to this email! Byeeeeeeee! 💖💖
