Happy Wednesday. Today, Iโm in your inbox to share a beloved recipe from my childhood: my momโs chicken corn soup. Itโs a comforting soup thatโs filled with farfalle, potatoes, and soup vegetables in a rich, savory chicken broth. Itโs truly the pinnacle of unfussy comfort food.
I also served it in the beautiful tureen set she and my dad bought for me when I was in my tureen tizzy. How pretty is this vintage serving set? Iโll be breaking it out for Thanksgiving this year, too!
In an effort to document more of my familyโs recipes, Iโll be making my dadโs shepherdโs pie next week. I know youโll love that one as much as I do. And if I can convince my mom to give me her fried pork chop recipe, Iโll share that one too. :)
For now, letโs dig into my recipes for the week!
My Momโs Chicken Corn Soup
When I think of the dinners I loved most from my mom, a handful immediately come to mind, like her spaghetti and meatballs, chicken tenders, and fried pork chops.
Her chicken corn soup, however, was a staple in our house, and you could always smell it the minute you got off the school bus in the afternoon. Iโm so happy to share this soup that brings back so many memories with you all, and maybe, it will even make its way into your own personal food traditions.

Chicken and Rice
My chicken and rice is more like a hearty stew than a soup. Add additional water if you want it a little soupier. On a cold night, however, I canโt help but want something thick and stewy that really sticks to the ribs. Itโs so comforting!
Vegan Radish Top Miso Ramen
If you pick up a tub of miso for the chickpeas above, use it again here in this radish-top miso ramen. Itโs so easy to make, and so flavorful.
Sweet and Spicy Chicken Bowl
This sweet and spicy chicken bowl is packed with flavor and makes for a super easy weeknight dinner recipe. Chipotles in adobo sauce add the perfect amount of heat and smokiness to this versatile rice bowl recipe.
