Recipes for the week
Reader faves 🌞
Happy Sunday. Today, I have a few reader faves and a few comfort recipes from the archives to share with you.
Weekend Update
Since I just sent a newsletter on Friday with all my favorite Thanksgiving leftover recipes, I’ll keep the weekend update brief. Right now, I have a cardamom pear tart in the oven, using up the leftover pie dough that I made on Thanksgiving. For dinner, I’m roasting a whole chicken and serving it with my favorite harissa mac and cheese, so that I can reshoot the recipe. I can’t wait!
For the most part, I really tried to relax this weekend. I didn’t cook much because I was pretty exhausted from Thanksgiving! I went out for sushi on Friday, and yesterday, I had a margarita and fajitas at a local Mexican restaurant. I would have eaten my Thanksgiving leftovers, but I accidentally left them at my mom’s. Darn!
For now, let’s get into some recipes to inspire your meal plan for the rest of the week.
READER FAVES
Buffalo Turkey Dip
Thank you so much for the 5-star review, Jose! Naturally, you can make this with chicken as well, but if you need to get through the last of your Thanksgiving turkey, this cheesy, tangy dip is the way to do it.
Chipotle Chicken and Rice Soup
Thank you for the comment! I’m so happy you enjoyed this spicy, rich soup. Winter is the perfect season for a fiery bowl of soup.
Vegan Ginger-Turmeric Coconut Soup
This recipe has been getting 5-star reviews since 2022! With sweet potatoes, rice noodles, and a fragrant turmeric coconut broth, it’s a perfect plant-based meal to add to your rotation.
Spicy Calabrian Chicken Meatballs
Thank you for the review, Mags! Milk sounds like a great addition to these fiery meatballs. YUM!
Sausage, Farro, and White Bean Stew
Thank you, Sherry! I love the addition of mushrooms to this. Perfect idea! I’m thrilled you enjoyed this as leftovers, too.
Amaretto Cherry Upside-Down Cake
This comment comes from Hazel on Instagram, who made this cake for her mom’s wedding! What a wonderful dessert to celebrate! I’m so happy it was a hit for such a special occasion. 💖
