Happy Sunday. Going to keep this newsletter short and sweet with a “new” old recipe from my archives that I revisited and a few rainy-day ideas.
Weekend Update
On Friday, I tried Flour and Wood—a new restaurant near me—and whew! What a dream. I tried the gamberone (a GIANT shrimp!) and loved it, a pizza, meatballs, and Caesar salad. Everything was delicious, but I’m still thinking about this tiramisu. The mascarpone was so silky smooth and airy and delicious and everything I love. I will definitely be going back!

Another food highlight was the sweet potato chaat at Chai Pani in DC. Mind-blowingly good with such a complex sweet and savory flavor profile!
Needless to say, I had an excellent weekend of eating, but I’m excited to settle back into cooking. This week’s meal plan includes a roast chicken with lentil stew for tonight, sweet chili tofu (again), more beau monde pork chops to perfect my recipe, BBQ chicken thighs with harissa mac and cheese, and a London broil on Friday. Instead of steak taco salad, I’m making a big old London broil with a side of baked potatoes. YUM.
For now, let’s get into some recipes to keep you cooking this week.
